This song was released four years ago, and was not immensely popular. Most people dont know who Lissom is. They have a million monthly listeners on Spotify but on YouTube they can barely scrape up a thousand likes. This is the problem of Indie music. It is beautiful, abstract, amazing, deep, and completely unknown.
Mainstream music gets all the attention, so Indie artists often go unheard. I can tell you right now the best music is always the ones that are hard to find, that are hidden.
I was painting some today in my art, and heard a Lissom song. So while part of it dried, I played: Scalped. I looked up the lyrics and people who think literally can misunderstand the song thinking its a horror movie, when in fact its about influences in life.
I found this meaning online and screenshot it:
Sonic Hits here
I cant show the lyrics here because of Copyright but go to the above link, and they are there. The lyrics are very abstract and speak of blood and being released and the pain of trying to form your own identity.
I feel this deeply in my own life in many ways, and most people can. Please check out this song see what you think:
