Exploring Lissom's Scalped

 This song was released four years ago, and was not immensely popular. Most people dont know who Lissom is. They have a million monthly listeners on Spotify but on YouTube they can barely scrape up a thousand likes. This is the problem of Indie music. It is beautiful, abstract, amazing, deep, and completely unknown. Mainstream music gets all the attention, so Indie artists often go unheard. I can tell you right now the best music is always the ones that are hard to find, that are hidden. I was painting some today in my art, and heard a Lissom song. So while part of it dried, I played: Scalped. I looked up the lyrics and people who think literally can misunderstand the song thinking its a horror movie, when in fact its about influences in life. What is Fluid Indie?

 Hi, I am Jennifer. I started getting into Indie music in 2019. I did not know great Singers existed outside the realm of mainstream music. I was on YouTube, and found a Playlist channel called: KHB. I liked about seven or so songs from there. Other songs starting popping up in my feed, namely: Ruelle. She was the biggest start of my Indie journey. She used to sing echoey, background music for a tv show called Shadow Hunters. She had several albums and I liked many of her songs. It started a chain reaction of finding out other people like her and I was chasing a sound that was dreamy and yes you guessed it-fluid.  I found Novo Amor, Dave Thomas Junior, Lissom, Lists, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Vraell, Sod Ven, Ghostly Kisses.    These were some of the Singers that are phenomenal I did not know existed.  In 2020, I had a Caretaker live-in job and listened to these songs at night sometimes while Birdwatching.
